Within one month from February 1st to March 1st as many as 40 Chinese tourists reported to the Consulate General that their passports and other personal belongings were stolen or robbed in Auckland, of which 5 occurred on Dominion Road, 12 on Mount Eden, 3 at Mission Bay, and 13 Vehicles were smashed.

The Consulate General reminds Chinese tourists in Auckland:

1. Be alert and keep an eye on your valuables at all times, especially when you are taking photos or dining.

2. Keep your vehicle attended or leave nothing in it whenever you are away from it.

3. Buy insurance for your personal traveling effects and keep a copy of your passport in a safe place.

4. If robbed or stolen dial 111 immediately to report to Police and call 0064 274905381 to inform the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland as soon as possible.
