Consul General Niu Qingbao Met with Friendship Associations of China and New Zealand

Consul General Niu Qingbao met with the delegation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries headed by Secretary General Li Xikui and Mr. Ken Liu and members of New Zealand China Friendship Society on May 9, 2015.

After a general briefing of the steady and friendly relationship between China and New Zealand, Mr. Niu praised both the the NZCS and CPAFFC for their strenuous efforts in promoting the people to people friendship between the two countries. Mr. Niu also assured that the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland will, as always, further the exchanges and cooperation between the two friendship associations so as to strengthen the relationship between China and New Zealand.

During the meeting, Mr. Ken Liu, on behalf of the NZCS, presented “Inside Red China”(DVD version) to CPAFFC. The documentary was shot in China by film producer Ms. Ramai Hayward who led a cultural delegation to China at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in 1957. A most treasuable scene in the film records the delegation presenting a Maori cloak to Chairman Mao Zedong.
