On November 19 local time, President Xi Jinping arrived in Auckland, starting his state visit to New Zealand at the invitation of Governor-General Jerry Mateparae and Prime Minister John Key of New Zealand.

At about 11 o'clock p.m. local time, Xi Jinping's special plane arrived at the Auckland International Airport. Xi Jinping and his wife, Mme. Peng Liyuan, were warmly welcomed by Representative of the Governor-General of New Zealand Richard Walker, Prime Minister John Key and his wife and Mayor Len Brown of Auckland.

Xi Jinping conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes of the Chinese people to the people of New Zealand. Xi Jinping pointed out that since the establishment of the diplomatic relationship 42 years ago, the China-New Zealand relations have achieved leapfrog development, bringing enormous benefits to the two peoples and also making a positive contribution to the peace, stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. The Maori people say that people will get lost without foresight. I look forward to working together with the state leaders and all sectors of New Zealand to draw a new blueprint for the development of the China-New Zealand relations in the future, making this visit a trip to enhance political mutual trust, to expand practical cooperation and to deepen the friendship between the two peoples.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and other delegation members arrived by the same plane.

H. E. Wang Lutong, Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand, also greeted Xi Jinping at the airport.

Xi Jinping arrived in Auckland after concluding his state visit to Australia. Representative of the Governor-General of Australia, Representative of the Prime Minister, Representative of the Governor of New South Wales State and others saw him off at the airport upon his departure from Sydney.
