On November 21 local time, President Xi Jinping met in Auckland with Leader of the Labour Party Andrew Little of New Zealand.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the Labour Party is an important force in the New Zealand political circle, and more importantly, a pioneer of the China-New Zealand relationship. During the administration of the Labour Party, the China-New Zealand relationship gained two milestone achievements: one is the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between the two countries in 1972, and the other is the signing of the Free Trade Agreement by the two sides in 2008. We will not forget the important contributions made by the Labour Party to promoting the development of the bilateral relations. Under the new situation, the two countries have established the comprehensive strategic partnership. I hope that the Labour Party continues to carry forward the pioneering spirit and makes new contributions to the development of the China-New Zealand relationship. The Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to continue to enhance party-to-party exchanges with the Labour Party.
