On September 22, Consul General Liao Juhua met with the newly appointed Japanese Consul General Mr. Hachiro Ishida in the Chinese Consulate General office.

Consul General Liao briefed Mr. Ishida on the duties of the Chinese Consulate General, the exchanges and cooperations between China and the Consular Regions and China's measures adopted to deal with the global financial crisis.

Consul General Ishida made a self introduction of his diplomatic career, what has been done since he resumed office, and expressed his wish of strengthening his working relations with the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland.

The two sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
