Consul General Liao Juhua Meets with New US Consul General in Auckland

On September 23, Consul General Liao Juhua met with the newly appointed US Consul General Mr. Randy W. Berry in the Chinese Consulate General office.

Consul General Liao briefed Mr. Berry on the duties of the Chinese Consulate General, the exchanges and cooperations between China and the Consular Regions, the activities being organized to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in the local Chinese communities and China's measures adopted to deal with the global financial crisis.

Consul General Berry made a self introduction of his diplomatic career, and what has been done since he resumed office, the duties of the US Consulate General in Auckland, economic and trade relations between the US and New Zealand. Mr. Berry used to work in the US embassies in Egypt, Uganda, South Africa and Nepal, etc.

The two sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
